I'm Rick Gao — a final-year engineering student at EPITA in Paris, specializing in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data. I'm drawn to systems that turn raw data into something useful: ETL pipelines, real-time processing, and models that hold up in production.

My experience spans data engineering internships at Banque de France and Napta, where I worked on AML fraud detection, instant payment workflows, and automated client data integration. I'm comfortable across Python, Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Hadoop, and the broader big-data stack.

On the ML side, I've built real-time streaming pipelines, NLP systems for text classification and generation, recommender systems, and CNN-based image classifiers through coursework at EPITA and during my exchange at National Chung Cheng University in Taiwan.

During my free time, I love going outside to take photos — whether it's a walk around the city or exploring somewhere new on vacation. I'm currently seeking a full-time Data Engineer position starting September 2026.
